John Travolta Travels to Bahamas to Testify in Extortion Trial
Nearly ten months after the death of his son, John Travolta traveled to the Bahamas to testify in a trial that centers on a former senator and a former paramedic allegedly trying to extort money from the actor. As any parent who has lost a child no doubt understands, the loss is not one that heals. In the wake of the death of John Travolta’s son Jett last January, a barrage of unusual facts came out about that night, all of which have led to Travolta traveling back to the Bahamas, where his son died, to testify in an extortion trial. Though it has been over 9 months sine that fateful evening, Travolta is no doubt hurting at the memory of that night. Testifying yesterday, Travolta told the court of his attempts to resuscitate his son frantically. Jett Travolta died at the Travoltas’ Bahamian vacation home, where the family was on a New Year’s vacation. His death certificate lists his cause of death as a seizure disorder and now, one of the paramedics on the scene that night is on trial, along with former Bahamas Senator Pleasant Bridgewater, for allegedly attempting to extort $25 million from Travolta. The paramedic, Tarino Lightborne, and Bridgewater allegedly told Travolta at one point that that they would release potentially damaging statements if they were not paid the large sum. Not much came out in the first day of the trial, which largely consisted of Travolta recounting the details of his New Year’s vacation and the night in question. Travolta was accompanied by his wife, Kelly Preston and noted in his testimony that his son suffered from a seizure disorder that result in him having a seizure every five to ten days, with each seizure lasting roughly one minute. Travolta further noted that he was awakened on the morning of January 2 by Jett’s nanny Eli Wheaton. Said Travolta, "I saw him on the bathroom floor. Jeff Kathrein, his other nanny, and a woman from Old Bahama Bay were doing CPR."

Britney Spears Releases New Song, 3
Britney's latest single, 3, hit the airwaves this morning on Z100 in New York and all indications are that it will be a big hit. Britney Spears is collaborating once again with producer Max Martin, who was with her when everything started and Baby, One More Time was tearing up the charts. Britney's been doing pretty well with her singles since her return to the spotlight and this one in particular is launching the release of her latest greatest-hits album, The Singles Collection. Yes, Britney's only been in the business for 10 years and she already has 2 greatest hits albums! But that's the world we're living in. It's tough to argue with the fact that she doesn't have enough hits to justify the new album, given her sales in an increasingly difficult time to sell music. Her new album will be offered in a variety of formats, including an "ultimate fan box set", which will include all 29 of Britney's singles packaged individually with their original artwork and any related B-side or a re-mix. A collector's collection, if you will. Britney's new song, 3, is sexually charged, as one might expect. The lyrics hint at a threesome involving two men and a woman - Britney, apparently. It will surely be a big hit with the young, Britney-adoring set and will find plenty of air-play on stations like Z100, where it premiered earlier this morning. As the song climbs the charts, we'll probably be seeing a new run of Britney appearances in all of the obvious places. Look for her on late-night talk shows as well as possible surprise performances on the morning circuit as well.
How to Sell Beats on MySpace, SoundClick, Facebook and Other Social Networking Sites
Have you made many sales selling beats online yet? If so, then great, but this information could still help you! If you are struggling, then it is essential you read and understand this article.
Marketing yourself as a producer or artist is a lot like marketing a company, in fact it's pretty must the same thing, except as a producer or artist you have an advantage, you are selling yourself. Now who knows you better than yourself? This means you can really build great relationships with customers and continue these relationships because you create a certain bond with them that you just can't get with companies.
Creating relationships with your customers is really important, because statistics show it's about 40% easier and cheaper to sell to a current customer than it is so go and find new customers. Now I cannot stress how important this point is.
So, how do you build relationships with your customers? Well it's important that when contacting new customers, it's not necessary to start selling them something straight away. Offer them something for free, or start a general chat, make them see you as a person rather than an advertising machine.
A great way to do this is on social networks like MySpace, SoundClick, Facebook etc. When approaching people on these sites, don't do what I see a lot of other producers doing by spamming people's inboxes with BUY MY BEATS, BUY MY BEATS, because it's just not that effective. Start by complimenting their music, find out more about them, create a relationship with them. Once you have created this relationship with them, they will trust you more, and when you decide to offer them your products or services, they are much more likely to to buy from you because they feel they know you. This can be very time consuming I know, but when done correctly you will really start to see the difference it makes.
Once you put this into action
, you will start to see the effect building relationships makes to your sales.
NEW MICHEAL JACKSON SINGLE, THIS IS IT, HIT AIRWAVES TODAY
The estate of Michael Jackson is optimistic about today's release of Jackson's posthumous single, This Is It. "This song only defines, once again, what the world already knows -- that Michael is one of God's greatest gifts," said John McClain, a co-producer of the album and an executor of Jackson's estate.Perhaps in a savvy business move, the estate has made the single for sale as part of a two-disc compilation album, which will include some never before heard material as well as some classic Jackson tunes. The second disc on the album will also feature a recording of Jackson's recitation of a poem entitled Planet Earth.
The release dates for the album will be October 26th and 27th, set to coincide with the release of the Jackson movie by the same name on October 28th. This final wave of Michael Jackson activity will likely see things calm considerably until the first anniversary of his death next June.
As the investigation into his death continues, Michael Jackson's private physician, Conrad Murray, remains the focus of the investigation. Given that Jackson's death was ruled a homicide by the L.A. coroner, it's telling that neither Murray nor anyone else has been charged with a crime related to his death.

There are three related organizations currently involved in presenting the Emmy Awards. The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS), which recognizes achievements in prime time entertainment except for sports; the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS), which honors daytime, news, sports, and documentary programming; and the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, which recognizes excellence in programming produced outside of the United States.
The ATAS, which is based in Los Angeles, first established the Emmys as a part of a public relations campaign to build their image and give it a public face. They chose the name "Emmy" as a feminine reworking of the word "immy," which was a nickname for the image tubes that were commonly used in television cameras years ago. To go along with the feminine name, the statuette designed for the award is in the shape of a winged woman who holds an atom, which is now the symbol of the ATAS goal of supporting the art and science involved in television programming. The woman’s wings represent art, and the atom represents the science involved in producing that art.
The first ceremony of presenting the Emmy Awards was held on January 25, 1949, but it was held only to honor television shows that were produced and shown locally in the Los Angeles
A few years later the Emmys were expanded into being a national event, with the awards presented live on shows that were broadcast across the country. The NATAS was formed in 1955 in New York, to serve as a companion organization to ATAS, to work with members located on the East Coast. Regional chapters were established throughout the US, with each chapter developing a local Emmy awards show to honor local programming excellence. But due to various conflicts among organizations, the NATAS and the ATAS decided to split ties in 1977, but they agreed to share the ownership of the trademark and Emmy statue, with each organization being responsible for overseeing a specific set of shows.
Each Emmy ceremony has its own grouping of award categories, and it is common for some of the awards to have the same names, such as the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series - which exists in both the primetime and the daytime Emmy ceremonies. Some award categories that are presented to people who work behind the scenes - such as costume designers, sound editors, and casting directors - are handed out at separate ceremonies held prior to the major awards ceremonies. Until this year, high school and college students had the opportunity to submit original productions to regional ATAS chapters, where they could be recognized for news, documentaries, public affairs, public service, sports, arts and entertainment, writing, and technical achievement. The school the students belong to received a plaque to display that contains the name of the student film-maker as well as an adult advisor. But the national high school program was suspended in 2009, because there was no money left to continue the program due to the downturn in the economy. However, the Emmys for high school and college accomplishments are still presented on a regional level.
In addition to the major categories, there are a handful of special Emmys presented each year such as awards for business and financial reporting, public service announcements and programming that "advances the common good," national television newscasts and documentaries, and the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award, which is presented by the Board of Governors of the NATAS. The Governors Award was designed to recognize the achievements of a person, organization, or company whose works stand out above the rest. It is the highest and most prestigious award the Academy presents.
viewing area. The first Emmy ever presented was awarded to Shirley Dinsdale, who was named the Most Outstanding Television Personality.
